COMETS ANNOUNCE FIRST MONTH'S SCHEDULE

Kansas City, MO (December 10, 2020) – The Kansas City Comets announced today that they will help kick off the MASL regular season on Saturday, January 2nd when the team travels to Allen, TX, to take on the Dallas Sidekicks at 7pm. The team’s regular season home opener will be on Friday, Jan. 22nd when former Comets star, Danny Waltman and the Tacoma Stars visit Cable Dahmer Arena in Independence, MO at 7pm.

Before they open the regular season on Jan. 2nd, the Comets will participate in the Central Cup Tournament along with the St. Louis, Ambush, Wichita Wings and Dallas Sidekicks. The Comets will play at Dallas on Dec. 12, at home against the Ambush on Dec. 19th at 7pm and finish the tournament on the road at Wichita the next day on Dec. 20th.

The Comets will open their MASL regular season slate with a weekend tilt in Lakeland, FL taking on the Tropics on Friday, Jan. 8th and Sunday, January 10th. The team will finish off their January road games on Saturday, January 16th in St. Charles, MO against the St. Louis Ambush. The Comets will wrap up the month of January with a home game against the San Diego Sockers on Friday, January 29th.

The Major Arena Soccer League has announced dates which include six teams participating in a total of 14 games during the month of January. While the league is navigating ongoing changes and COVID-19 related restrictions, it anticipates announcing schedules on a month-to-month basis. The St. Louis Ambush, Kansas City Comets, Dallas Sidekicks, San Diego Sockers, Tacoma Stars and Florida Tropics have all committed to dates in January.

The MASL announced in early December that 11 clubs intend to participate in a modified 2021 regular season: Baltimore, Dallas, Florida, Harrisburg, Kansas City, Ontario, Rochester, San Diego, St. Louis, Tacoma and Utica. Also previously announced, Mesquite, Milwaukee, Monterrey, Sonora and Turlock will sit out the upcoming campaign.
