KANSAS CITY (Dec. 18, 2018) – The Kansas City Comets just finished a tough three-game weekend that saw them in two countries and travelling over 1,200 miles in four days. Although all three results did not go their way, the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) recognized several players for their efforts.

Forward Leo Gibson and defender Nacho Flores were each named to the MASL Team of the Week while forward Anthony Grant and goalkeeper Brett Petricek were named Honorable Mention.

Gibson led all scorers across the league this weekend with 13 points across three games. He started with a six-point game (three goals, three assists) in Canada before returning home with a goal and three assists on Saturday and then capping off the week with two assists and a highlight-worthy bicycle kick score on Sunday.

Flores started off his three-game weekend with a four-goal effort on Thursday night against the Mississauga MetroStars. Then, at home on Saturday, he added another goal and two assists for Kansas City’s Home Opener.

The Comets will return to action this Saturday at the Silverstein Eye Centers Arena as they take on cross-state rivals, the St Louis Ambush at 7:05 p.m. CT. Tickets are still available here
