The Kansas City Comets (1-1-1) are back at Cable Dahmer Arena as they welcome Eastern Conference rival Milwaukee Wave (1-0-0) on Sunday, December 11.

The Comets enter the game after a trip to Texas, where they suffered a 5-3 defeat against the Mesquite Outlaws on Saturday evening. Mesquite goalkeeper Pollo Cortez made 24 saves to continue Kansas City’s offensive struggles.

The Comets chased the game as they trailed for the majority of the contest. Once again, the Comets outshot their opponent, ending the game with 35 shots to Mesquite’s 25.

Kansas City is looking to get their offense going after three low-scoring games this season.

John Sosa leads the Comets with six points from two goals and four assists. Lucas Sousa follows with three goals and one assist. After that, James Togbah has two goals and Mike Da-Silva has two assists.

Goalkeeper Nicolau Neto will be available after serving his one-game suspension against Mesquite. The Comets will be without Ray Lee (right ankle sprain) and Rian Marques (right ankle tenosynovitis) while Richard Schmermund (left quad strain) is questionable.

The Wave cruised to a 7-3 win over the St. Louis Ambush in their season-opener in Milwaukee Saturday evening. A four-point performance from Andre Hayne (two goals, two assists) accompanied Ian Bennett’s hat trick.

Led by head coach Giuliano Oliviero, Milwaukee will be eager to get their first win at Cable Dahmer Arena since February 2020. Since then, Milwaukee is winless in three tries.

After Sunday, the Comets visit Milwaukee on Friday, December 16 before hosting the Ambush on Saturday, December 17.
