KANSAS CITY (November 24, 2021) – The Kansas City Comets announced today that midfielder, Christian Anderaos has signed a three-year contract with the club. Per team and league policies, terms of the contract were not disclosed.

The Sao Paulo, Brazilian played collegiately at UMKC under the guidance of former Comets Head Coach, Rick Benben, and has a knack for dishing out assists.

Now, the former Roos star is a graduate assistant for campus recreation, fitness and wellness for his alma mater. Anderaos coordinates and manages the group fitness classes for the university, promoting health and wellness for the entire UMKC community. KSHB-TV41 featured Anderaos in August of 2020 during the height of the pandemic as Christian was gaining followers of his at-home fitness routines. He started with 15 followers then quickly worked his way up to 1,000, and now has over 25,000 Instagram followers. The KSHB story can be viewed HERE.

“Christian is a great addition to our locker room with his positive attitude,” said Comets Managing Partner, Brian Budzinski. “As we saw in the preseason match, he is an active, two-way player who has the ability to finish and create scoring opportunities.”

“I really want to thank Comets coaches Gibson, Stokic and Mayer for giving me this opportunity,” said Anderaos. “I am going to work as hard as I can to help this team win a championship. I cannot express how excited I am to be a Kansas City Comet.”
