KANSAS CITY (January 16, 2021) – The Kansas City Comets announced today that defender, Jose Ramos has signed a one-year contract with the club. Per team and league policies, terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Ramos, born and raised in Brazil, came to the United States to play collegiate soccer for the University of Albany. After a series of injury setbacks, he transferred to MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, KS to finish out his collegiate career and get his degree.

“I’m really excited to transition to the indoor game,” said Ramos. “Learning from Coach Gibson and Coach Stokic has been awesome, and the rest of the guys on the team have really been helpful teaching me the nuances of the game.”

“Jose has been training with the guys for a while now,” said Comets Managing Partner, Brian Budzinski. “He has a great work ethic and we think that he can become a real contributor for us.”

Ramos will be in uniform Saturday night as the Comets visit the St. Louis Ambush at Family Arena in St. Charles, MO.
