DEFENDER MIRKO SANDIVARI SIGNS 3-YEAR DEAL WITH COMETS

by Pete Richmire

INDEPENDENCE, MO. – Veteran defender Mirko Sandivari has been signed to a three-year contract as announced by the Kansas City Comets today. The 2022-23 campaign will be Sandivari’s sixth with the Comets. Per team and league policies, the terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

The Santiago, Chile native appeared in 18 regular-season games last season and matched a career-high in assists with five. He also saw action in all six of the Comets’ playoff games. For his career, Sandivari has logged 67 regular-season games to go with eight in the post-season. He has 23 points on ten goals and 13 assists to go with 45 blocks in a Comets uniform.

Sandivari, a Park University alum, brings experience that Comets owner Brian Budzinski was happy to keep on the team for the next three seasons. “Mirko has been a steady presence in our back line for a while now. We are excited to keep his veteran leadership on the squad for the next three seasons,” said Budzinski.

Sandivari is ready to get the 2022-23 season underway. “I’m really happy to be back! We will work hard to achieve our goals for this season. Can’t wait for the Hot Winter Nights,” he said.

The Comets will kick off their home schedule on Saturday, November 26 against the St. Louis Ambush as Hot Winter Nights returns to Cabe Dahmer Arena. Get your tickets today by calling 1-888-9-COMETS or visiting www.kccomets.com/tickets.
