FORWARD FELIPE ABREU SIGNED TO ONE-YEAR CONTRACT

INDEPENDENCE, MO. – The Kansas City Comets have announced the re-signing of forward Felipe Abreu to a one-year deal for the 2022-23 MASL season. Per team and league policies, the terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Abreu had to sit out most of last year due to visa issues and appeared in just five games for the Comets, finishing with a pair of assists in his second season with the club. The adversity has not affected Abreu and the team is looking forward to a great comeback as noted in the statement by Comets owner Brian Budzinski.

“Felipe has really put in the work this offseason. We are excited to see his dedication. After a challenging year last year, we look for Felipe to have a big season for us,” he said.

Abreu is ready to get back to action at Cable Dahmer Arena as well, saying “I’m extremely excited to keep doing what I love the most! Being able to play the beautiful game for this incredible organization and fans alongside my amazing teammates and coaches is even better.”

The first chance to see Abreu in action on the blue turf will be on Saturday, November 26 as Hot Winter Nights returns to Cabe Dahmer Arena. Got your tickets today by calling 1-888-9-COMETS or visiting www.kccomets.com/tickets.
