Robert Palmer, Ramone Palmer and Alain Matingou return to KC

KANSAS CITY (September 7, 2018) – The Kansas City Comets have acquired Robert Palmer, Ramone Palmer and Alain Matingou in a three-way trade today with Tacoma Stars and San Diego Sockers. In exchange, the Tacoma Stars receive the rights to midfielder Milan Ivanovic and the San Diego Sockers receive former Comets defender Guerrero Pino. Tacoma also receives former Sockers forward Matt Clare.

“We are so excited to bring Ramone, Robert and Alain back home to KC,” said Comets head coach Kim Roentved. “We will miss Pino this season, he was one of our top players and is on pace to be one of the best defenders in the league. Sometimes to receive value you have to give up some value and that is the tough decision I had to make here.”

Robert Palmer and Ramone Palmer got their indoor soccer careers started with the Kansas City Comets in the 2012-2013 season. Ramone had his best season in 2016-2017 when he totaled 31 points (13 goals, 18 assists). From his defensive position, Robert has accumulated 72 points in his five-year career, 67 of them with the Comets.

Alain Matingou, a native of Paris, France, began his career in Kansas City in the 2013-2014 season. He really hit his stride with the team in his second year with the club. He played in all 20 games that season, scoring 21 goals and 12 assists.

The Kansas City Comets will open their 12-game home schedule at the Silverstein Eye Centers Arena on December 15th. The opponent and the rest of the schedule will be announced this fall.

Season Tickets are available now and single game and group tickets will be available soon. For more information about the Kansas City Comets, be sure to follow the team on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram or check out KCComets.com.
