Roentved leaves with most wins in modern era

KANSAS CITY (September 27, 2019) – The Kansas City Comets announced today that Kim Roentved will not be returning as head coach when the team kicks off the 2019-2020 season this fall. Roentved leaves the team with 56 wins in two different stints as the Comets head coach.

“I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Kim for over 10 years. I grew up idolizing him as a player. Kim’s contributions to the Comets, Indoor Soccer & the overall growth of Soccer in Kansas City is unmatched,” said Comets Managing Partner Brian Budzinski. “I wish him nothing but the best moving forward in his future endeavors.”

Budzinski expects to announce the new head coach in the coming weeks. In the meantime, he and his staff are preparing for the team’s tenth season at the Silverstein Eye Centers Arena. The Comets full 2019-2020 schedule will be announced on Monday, Sep 30 at 9:00 a.m. CT.
