LUCAS SOUSA NAMED WEEK 3 OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

INDEPENDENCE, MO. – Kansas City Comets midfielder Lucas Sousa has been named the MASL Offensive Player of the Week for Week Three of the 2022-23 season as voted on by broadcasters and writers from around the league. Sousa is the first Comets Player of the Week for the season.

In games in Milwaukee on December 16 and at home against St. Louis on December 17 Sousa combined for three goals and three assists which was good for a six-point week.

His big game of the week came against the Wave at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena and though the Comets came up short in a 9-7 loss to the Wave, Sousa notched a hat trick and two assists to lead all scorers in the game. He added an assist in Kansas City’s 7-4 win over the Ambush the following night.

The Comets are back in action on December 29 when the Monterrey Flash make their only regular-season appearance at Cable Dahmer Arena this season. Kick-off is 7 pm and tickets are available at www.kccomets.com/tickets.
