MIDFIELDER LALO ALONSO INKS 2-YEAR DEAL WITH COMETS

by Pete Richmire

INDEPENDENCE, MO. – Midfielder Eduardo “Lalo” Alonso Alejo has agreed to a two-year contract with the Comets the team announced today. The Nurio Michoacán, Mexico native made his MASL debut with the team on March 27 last season. Per team and league policies, the terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Alejo picked up a goal in his first game on the road in Milwaukee and followed that up with a pair of assists in his second appearance five days late in St. Louis. After scoring in both of his games last season, he is ready to get the 2022-23 season started.

“I am very excited to be back with the Comets for the next two years! I can’t wait for the season to start,” Alejo said.

Just two games played is no indicator of the work Alejo put in last season as noted by Comets owner Brian Budzinski’s comment. “Lalo was a rookie that was with us from day 1 last year. He worked his tail off and earned a contract. Now the coaching staff is rewarding him with a 2-year deal. He has a very bright future with our club.”

Make your plans to be there on Saturday, November 26 when the Comets kick off their home schedule against St. Louis as Hot Winter Nights returns to Cabe Dahmer Arena. Get your tickets today by calling 1-888-9-COMETS or visiting www.kccomets.com/tickets.
