KANSAS CITY, MO. – The Comets have announced that midfielder Nacho Flores has re-signed with the club for two more years today. Flores joined the squad in 2016-17 and will be entering his seventh season with the Comets. Per team and league policies, the terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Flores has played in the Kansas City area since his collegiate soccer career, where he started every game he played for Park University. The Santiago, Chile native has seen action in 110 career regular-season games for the Comets with 45 goals and 46 assists in that span. He has also racked up 68 blocks during his career thus far. His best season as a Comet was the 2017-18 campaign, when Flores tallied 16 goals and 19 assists in 22 games.

“I’m really happy to extend my contract with the team that I love,” said Flores about his new deal. In the Comets’ playoff run last season, Flores posted a career-high three postseason goals, including one game-winner.

Comet’s owner Brian Budzinski is excited to keep Flores in a Kansas City uniform and added that his talents are not confined to the field for the team. “Nacho is a Kansas City Comet through and through. We are so proud of him to come back and play at the level he has after the significant surgery he had two years ago. Aside from being a very good player and great teammate, Nacho also happens to be the best singer on the team,” Budzinski said.
