PALMER, WILLIAMS UP FOR PLAYER OF THE WEEK
KANSAS CITY (March 11, 2020) – Two Kansas City Comets made the Major Arena Soccer League Team of the Week and are up for Player of the Week. Vote for midfielder Kiel Williams or defender Robert Palmer for the honor through 10 a.m. CT Wednesday.
Williams scored a hat-trick and an assist in the win against Orlando Thursday, while Palmer scored five goals in New York Saturday and Sunday. Four of them came in the road win at Utica, including three in the last four minutes of regulation to force overtime.
The Comets needed every ounce of Palmer’s offensive output to beat Utica, but its his defense that has him amongst league leaders. His 49 blocked shots make him the league leader by 11.
Should they win, Williams or Palmer would become the third Comet to claim Player of the Week honors this season, as Leo Gibson and Kevin Ellis both won the award in January.
