SOUSA AND MARQUES ROOKIE OF THE YEAR FINALISTS

APRIL 8, 2021 - The list of finalists for the 2021 MASL Individual Awards was released today with both Lucas Sousa and Rian Marques vying for the title of Rookie of the Year. Bruno Henrique of the Florida Tropics is the third finalist for the honor. 

Sousa and Marques finished in the top four in scoring for the Comets during the regular season, and were part of a rookie class which landed three spots on the MASL All-Rookie team with Kyle McLagan.

Sousa, appearing in 11 games, finished the regular season with 17 points (9G-8A) and added another four goals and an assist during the Comets' post season run to the Semi-Finals. 

Marques led the team in goals during the regular season with 12, also having three assists for a 15-point campaign. In the playoffs, he chipped in with three goals as well.
